You may only refuse combat or having your scene interrupted when you are in an obviously private location. The private meeting rooms for factions are a good example of where private roleplay can happen, or the hotel rooms. However there are some acts that any player must have direct, OOC consent before doing:

  • Kidnapping/Capture
  • Rape
  • Trauma/Torture scenes
  • Stalking or following someone around

If these are not consented to, please respect this player’s wishes and work with them toward an alternative solution.

If you notice a large number of players (4+) are gathered in an area and it is a non-violent situation it is good manners to ask in main chat OOCly if people mind if you start combat/light something on fire/cause a lot of trouble. Most of the time you will be granted permission. If they are already fighting feel free to read the Combat Rules and join the fray.

The logic behind this rule is you can rapidly become an OOC annoyance if you start combat in large scenes repeatedly when the majority of the players in a scene are working toward a goal. This rule exists to help you not make a poor name for yourself and show your fellow players respect.
